Continuations of First day in Germany.. written by my best friend

Well, then I came out of the airport where my senior was waiting for me to pick me up. We took a bus from Frankfurt airport to Darmstadt,Hauptbahnhof (Raliway station). Amazingly its Benz… :)
Soon on the way, I realized that most of the public transport it from Benz. Such a comfortable and pleasure ride to Darmstadt.
As I came few days earlier to my university registration, I have to share my seniors room for 3 days(till Monday). I went to the students hostel and found that I‘m not alone. Many of my batch mates are already there and many seniors have vacated their rooms to do intern in some other city. Meaning: fewer rooms for handful of folks.
As I was so tired of flight travel, I slept as soon as I saw my senior’s bed. I woke up in few hours to see someone is waiting for me to wake so that he could take his turn to sleep. Even there are times where there are nearly 4 folks sleeping in a rooms with loud snoring..  ;)
Then in the evening many seniors came back from their regular work (Just to wake us up ;) ). It was nice to get introduced and knowing each other. Amazingly everyone cooks their dinner and we all had nice dinner that night. Also turning point here is most of them are leaving to some other city. So we have more rooms to sleep, but nobody to cook for us. Anyways, that’s tomorrow’s problem. Let’s live our day today. We had a nice chit chat full night and used their Voip to call back-home. That’s it… First day in Germany ended happily.

Next day started with amazing silence. Most of them were sleeping. As I got up early, I decided to go out for a walk and get familiar with the place. One of my friend also joined me for the walk. OMG!!! Never seen an empty streets on Sunday morning in India. Here, Nobody on the streets or in the playground. I was stunned to see empty streets with pin-drop silence. More than a shock, we were frightened ;) we thought something went wrong and that’s why no one is out there. After an hour walk, we came back to hostel to see some of our friends were already up and drinking tea(oh.. no..) black tea. Even today, I crave for Indian tea with milk(Chai). Then time for bath. Here is the twist. NO ELECTRICITY!!! Is it Germany!! Seniors were so surprised to see power cut. They dint experience power cut for the past 1 year, it seems. But of course, I’m used to power-cut back home. Now comes the bad part. My hostel got electric heating system. So, no heater and no hot water. Jokes started on all new comers(juniors): we brought power cuts with us ;). In that chilling weather, I took bath in cold water and came out shivering to see my friends happily enjoying all the left overs from yesterday. That’s the last good meal that we had. No one in our group knows to cook. Except few, All seniors left. We brought only some Maggie noodles packets and some snacks from India. Those 2 days were really tough. We don’t even had vessels to cook Maggie. So using hot water from kettle, put Maggie for 2 minutes in a bowl. That’s it! So called food ready! Survived with Maggie and snacks for 2 days. On Sunday night, senior came back and heard our story. He immediately took us to Doner shop. People in Germany knows about Doner very well. Even in Sunday, we get Doner here. But Its not my/our cup of tea. But my senior was enjoying that Doner as if he was eating his 5 course meal. Anyways, after that we all came back to his room and found little left out rice that he cooked for dinner(which he missed by enjoying donor). Without any shy, we asked for that rice and all 4 finished it in no time. Ha haa… what a start in Germany… :D :D :D

Next day, Monday! Germany woke up from weekend. Many on streets. Everyone says hallo! Nice to see so many people.  Finally, we went to University for registrations and getting rooms in student WG, etc etc…
Next day surprised to see group registration photo in  the newspaper…. :)
Then the real fun started!!!!
Happy Happyyyy Happppyyyyyy…. :)
